Arthur Rackham byl anglický ilustrátor. Pracoval jaro redaktor a kreslíř dětských časopisů, ilustroval více než třicet knih. Mezi nimi byly i Gulliverovy cesty, Alenka v říši divů či první sbírka hororových povídek E. A. Poea. First trade american edition. Original green cloth boards in good condition. Illustration of bells and elves on the cover and embossed green holly leaves along the spine. Twelve colour tissue guarded illustrations and eighteen (plus two smaller) black and white illustrations. Rackhams pieces were known for their luxurious use of color and keen attention to detail. His styles ranged easily from vivid, bright splashes of color to more muted, subtle tones. He became a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and mastered the watercolor method of painting, seen in many of his works. Many of the books Rackham illustrated include both his black and white, and color plates.
